There are many reasons why people seek therapy but one phrase I often hear is, “I’m tired.” You may not have the words to articulate what is wrong, but you know, you haven’t felt like yourself in a long time and it’s taking a toll in different areas of your life. You’ve tried to change but nothing seems to stick or be in your control. So where do you go from here?
My goal as your therapist is to, first and foremost, listen attentively and acknowledge your concerns in a non-judgmental atmosphere. It is also to create a safe space where you can gain insight by identifying underlying patterns that may have contributed to you feeling stuck and support you find answers to what you have been searching. Your journey up to now is filled with knowledge, lessons, and resilience. In therapy, we honor your experience, uncover your strengths, and empower you to enhance your ability to gain your sense of control in your life.
Together, we will work toward increasing awareness relating to yourself and others, and coping with stress so that you are able to live a life more aligned with your values. Therapy is a personal journey that can be fulfilling and transformative, but also challenging. I hope to lend my compassion, encouragement, and skill to assist you in the process. Starting is often the hardest part, but once you open the door, you won’t be alone.
